| The 2011 Fiddlers Rally will be held on Saturday 17th September |
| ELGIN FIDDLERS RALLY |
| On Saturday 20th September 2008, the society hosted its 35th Fiddlers Rally in Elgin Town Hall. |
| The society and musicians from other societies were joined by guest artistes singer Kirsteen Menzies and, playing as a duo, accordionist Wayne Roberston and drummer Malcolm Ross. The evening was compered by Raymond Wood. |
| This was a wonderful evening of entertainment again played to a capacity audience. The rally again attracted a high number of players with almost 100 on the stage this year. |

| The Elgin Strathspey and Reel Society is a scottish fiddle orchestra dedicated to promoting traditional music. The society is led by Bill Brian and plays in many concerts in the local area as well as making trips abroad to promote its music. |

| MUSIC |
| In 2006, the society took part in the recording of a CD which was a tribute to the famous Elgin fiddler, Willie MacPherson. A book has also been produced which describes Willie's life and his music. |

| TRIP TO IRELAND |
| The society visited Northern Ireland during September 2007 and played in concerts in Colraine Town Hall and the Waterside Theatre in Derry. For the trip they were accompanied by piper Jim Forbes, singer and clarsach player Irene Watt, dancer Louise Cameron and bothy ballad champion Eric Simpson. Both concerts were very well attended by appreciative audiences.
